Lumina V, sharpened and finished as an Amator. Lumina V Amator takes the scale and driver complement of the flagship Lumina floorstander and adds the crossover development and high-gloss woodwork that distinguish the Amator models. The result keeps the familiar slim cabinet and room-friendly placement of Lumina V while making the engineering and finish more ambitious.

Three-Way Architecture with an Amator Crossover
Lumina V Amator is a 3-way vented floorstanding design using Sonus faber’s 29 mm DAD soft-dome tweeter, a dedicated 150 mm paper-cone midrange and two 165 mm sandwich-diaphragm woofers. The Amator crossover retains the 260 Hz bass-to-mid transition but moves the midrange-to-tweeter point to 2,850 Hz, using Hybrid IFF-Paracross circuitry developed from Sonus faber’s work higher in the range.
Frequency response extends to 38 Hz, sensitivity is 89 dB and nominal impedance is 4 ohms. Sonus faber recommends 50 to 300 watts of clean amplifier power, giving Lumina V Amator the headroom for larger rooms while remaining compatible with a wide range of quality integrated and power amplifiers.
A Refined Interior Behind the Simple Exterior
Inside the squared cabinet, the mid-high section uses a lute-shaped chamber to increase rigidity and reduce standing waves around the midrange and tweeter. The reflex system fires downward through the base, making placement less dependent on generous distance from the rear wall. Iron spikes provide mechanical decoupling, and four binding posts support conventional wiring, bi-wiring or bi-amping.

The Amator Look
The visual treatment is as distinctive as the crossover. Lumina V Amator uses high-gloss multilayer wood with 45-degree grain orientation across the front baffle, creating a more elaborate pattern than the standard Lumina V. The remaining cabinet surfaces are finished in black leather. Red, Wenge and Walnut provide three very different personalities without changing the clean proportions of the cabinet.
Lumina V Amator is the choice when you want the full-range capability and scale of Lumina V, but with the upgraded crossover and more elaborate finish of the Amator series. It works equally well as the heart of a serious 2-channel system or as the front pair in a matching Lumina theater.
