Sonus faber Lumina III Floorstanding Speakers

A true 3-way Sonus faber in a surprisingly slender cabinet. Lumina III is the compact floorstanding model in the Lumina family, designed to bring the scale and ease of a tower speaker into rooms where a larger enclosure would be too much. With a dedicated midrange and twin woofers, it delivers a fuller presentation than the bookshelf models while keeping a narrow footprint and clean, understated proportions.

Three Drivers, Three Distinct Jobs

Lumina III is a 3-way vented design using Sonus faber’s 29 mm DAD soft-dome tweeter, a dedicated 150 mm paper-cone midrange and two 150 mm paper-cone woofers. Separating the midrange from the bass drivers allows voices and acoustic instruments to remain clear and expressive while the twin woofers handle the weight and dynamic demands lower in the spectrum.

The Para-cross crossover operates at 350 Hz and 3,500 Hz. Frequency response extends to 40 Hz, sensitivity is 89 dB, and nominal impedance is 4 ohms. Sonus faber recommends 50 to 250 watts of clean amplifier power.

Floorstander Scale Without Difficult Placement

The reflex port fires downward through the base of the cabinet. That arrangement makes Lumina III less sensitive to the wall behind it than many conventional rear-ported towers and gives you more freedom when positioning the speakers in a living room or shared space. Iron spikes provide the mechanical interface with the floor, while dual binding posts support conventional wiring, bi-wiring or bi-amping.

Designed for Music, Ready for Cinema

Lumina III makes an excellent foundation for a 2-channel system in a small to mid-sized room, especially when you want floorstander dynamics without a physically imposing speaker. The same tonal family also makes it easy to build a matching multichannel system around Lumina center, bookshelf and Gravis subwoofer models.

Italian Materials, Minimalist Form

The squared cabinet is intentionally simple so the materials do the visual work. Multilayer wood forms the front baffle, while the sides and top are hand-covered in black leather. Black, Wenge and Walnut finishes let the speaker lean contemporary or more furniture-like without changing its restrained profile.
