A more refined take on an already strong bookshelf speaker. Lumina II Amator starts with the compact proportions and 150 mm midwoofer of Lumina II, then adds a substantially revised crossover and the richer finish treatment associated with the Amator name. It is still easy to place and easy to live with, but the engineering and presentation move it a clear step beyond the standard model.

The Amator Difference Is More Than the Finish
Lumina II Amator remains a 2-way vented bookshelf design with Sonus faber’s 29 mm DAD soft-dome tweeter and a 150 mm paper-cone midwoofer, but its crossover is completely reworked. The crossover point moves to 2,600 Hz and incorporates technology developed through Sonus faber’s Homage work, including IFF filtering aimed at more precise phase and amplitude behavior between the two drivers.
Frequency response is rated from 55 Hz to 24 kHz, sensitivity is 86 dB and nominal impedance is 4 ohms. Sonus faber recommends 30 to 150 watts of clean amplifier power, making Lumina II Amator a good match for a capable integrated amplifier rather than requiring an oversized power amp.
Designed for Real Rooms
The reflex port remains on the front of the cabinet, so the speaker is less dependent on generous space behind it than many rear-ported designs. That makes Lumina II Amator practical on proper stands, a console or shelving where the room dictates placement. Four binding posts support conventional wiring, bi-wiring or bi-amping.

High-Gloss Woodwork with a Distinctive Look
The visual upgrade is immediate. Lumina II Amator uses high-gloss multilayer wood with 45-degree grain orientation on the front baffle, paired with black leather on the remaining cabinet surfaces. Choose Red, Wenge or Walnut. Each finish gives the speaker a more crafted, furniture-like presence while keeping the simple squared proportions of the Lumina family.
For a compact 2-channel system, Lumina II Amator is the choice when the size and placement advantages of Lumina II are right, but you want the more ambitious crossover and finish work of the Amator version. It also integrates naturally into a Lumina multichannel system.
